About the Mosehla Foundation

Mr Mosehla as founder of the Foundation, and its Trustees, have established the Trust for the purposes of addressing the needs of South African youth.

How it started

Tembisa is a large township situated on the East Rand of the Gauteng Province, South Africa. It was established in 1957 and is home to more than 460 000 residents. The name Tembisa comes from the Zulu word "thembisa" meaning "promise or hope".

Brian Mosehla, the founder of the Mosehla Foundation, is a South African entrepreneur who was born and bred in Tembisa. During his upbringing he experienced and continues to witness difficulties encountered by young people residing in townships and rural areas in South Africa in general and Tembisa in particular.

Brian recognises that the promotion of sport and recreation on the one hand and education on the other are imperative for the youth in Tembisa to fully realise their potential and make a positive contribution towards the reconstruction, development and transformation of the South African society in general and the Tembisa community in particular.
